PK Rosy, born Rajamma in the early 1900s, was a pioneering figure in Indian cinema, recognized as the first female lead in Malayalam-language films with her role in 'Vigathakumaran' in the 1920s. Despite her groundbreaking achievement, she faced severe caste-based discrimination, leading to her life being shrouded in obscurity and her legacy largely forgotten.
