Polyakov is an American adventurer who gained notoriety for his attempt to reach North Sentinel Island, home to the isolated Sentinelese tribe. In March 2024, he illegally crossed into the restricted territory, motivated by a passion for extreme challenges and the allure of encountering the mysterious tribe. His actions, which included preparing meticulously for the journey and filming his foray, led to his arrest and potential imprisonment for breaching Indian laws designed to protect indigenous peoples. His reckless endeavor was met with widespread condemnation, highlighting the dangers posed to both himself and the Sentinelese, who have no immunity to outside diseases.
