Postnik Iakovlev was a prominent Russian architect known for designing the iconic Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. He is often associated with Ivan IV the Terrible, who allegedly ordered him to be blinded after the completion of the cathedral to prevent him from creating anything as beautiful again, although this story is considered a myth by historians.
