Preben Aavitsland

Preben Aavitsland is the acting director of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (Folkehelseinstituttet), where he has been involved in public health policy and response strategies. He recently reflected on the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting that some of the strict nationwide precautions taken might have been overly stringent and that the closure of schools was perhaps not well-considered.
