Preben Ahlefeldt-Laurvig

Preben Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, who passed away at the age of 89, was the last lensgreve of Langeland, holding the title at Tranekær Slot, where he served as a dedicated steward and owner for many years. Born in Copenhagen in 1936, he was a member of the 12th generation associated with the estate, which he inherited and managed after becoming a co-owner in his twenties. Preben had a long-standing friendship with Queen Margrethe and was known for his connections within the Danish royal family. He is survived by his wife, Brita, their two sons, and grandchildren.
