Knežević has a notable criminal background, having been arrested in Bulgaria in September 2018 under an Interpol warrant, where he was found using multiple false identities. His apprehension followed extensive collaboration between Montenegrin law enforcement and international police forces from countries such as France, Germany, and Spain.
