Pridi Daochai

Pridi Daochai is a prominent Thai lawyer and business executive, best known for his long-standing association with Kasikornbank, where he served for over 35 years, culminating in his role as Managing Director. Born on September 9, 1961, he has a strong academic background, holding a bachelor's degree in law from Thammasat University and a master's in comparative law from the University of Illinois. His career includes significant leadership roles in various financial institutions and contributions to the Thai banking sector, including serving as the Chairman of the Thai Bankers' Association. He briefly served as Thailand's Minister of Finance in 2020 but resigned after only 20 days due to health concerns. Recently, Pridi has been in the news as he is poised to take on the role of Minister of Energy in the new government led by Anutin Charnvirakul.
