Princess Elisabeta of Greece and Denmark
Born on May 24, 1904, in Greece, Princess Elisabeta was the second daughter of Prince Nicolaus of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia. She spent her childhood between Greece and Russia, but the political turmoil of World War I forced her family into exile in Switzerland. After returning to Greece, she faced further exile with the establishment of the Second Hellenic Republic in 1924. Settling in Paris, she worked for an American cosmetics brand and eventually married Count Carl Theodor von Törring-Jettenbach in 1934, with whom she had two children. The couple navigated the challenges of Nazi influence during World War II due to their familial connections. Princess Elisabeta passed away from cancer in 1955 and was buried in the family mausoleum.
