Princess Lawes

Princess Lawes is a notable Jamaican politician who made history by becoming the first female Member of Parliament for St Ann North Western, winning the seat in the 1980 and 1983 elections as a representative of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). Her victories were significant as they marked the JLP's break in the People’s National Party’s (PNP) historical dominance in the constituency.
