
Pylyp Averenko
Pylyp Averenko, born on January 21, 1994, in Slavutych, Kyiv Oblast, was a Ukrainian soldier who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He studied at the Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, earning a master's degree in nuclear power engineering. Averenko voluntarily joined the military in March 2024, serving in the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade and the 108th Separate Mechanized Battalion 'Wolves Da Vinci.' He tragically lost his life while performing a combat mission on April 2, 2025, near Nadiivka, Donetsk Oblast. Averenko had a complicated relationship with his family, particularly his parents, who held pro-Russian views, prompting him to express his wishes that his financial benefits be awarded solely to his wife, Marina Motuz, rather than his estranged parents.
