Qicheng Zhang is a postdoctoral fellow at Arizona's Lowell Observatory, where he has made significant contributions to the study of celestial phenomena. Recently, he gained attention for capturing what is believed to be the first optical image of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS after its perihelion passage around the Sun. Zhang utilized the observatory's Discovery Telescope to observe the comet and has been actively sharing his findings and insights through his Cometary blog, helping to engage both researchers and amateur astronomers in the excitement of this rare astronomical event.
