Queen Mary of Teck

Queen Mary of Teck was the consort of King George V and the grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II. She was born in 1867 and became known for her strong presence in the royal family and her influence on British society. Queen Mary was the last Princess of Wales to issue royal warrants, a practice that has recently been revived by her descendant, Kate Middleton.
