R.E.M.
R.E.M. was an American rock band formed in 1980, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of alternative rock. The original lineup consisted of Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Bill Berry. Their unique sound, characterized by Stipe's enigmatic lyrics and jangly guitar riffs, propelled them to fame with hits like 'Losing My Religion' and 'Everybody Hurts.' R.E.M. played a significant role in bringing alternative music into the mainstream and disbanded in 2011 after a successful three-decade career.
