Rafael María Fabretto
Rafael María Fabretto was an Italian Salesian priest who arrived in Nicaragua in 1950 and dedicated his life to the education and development of at-risk children and adolescents. Through his efforts, he established various oratories and programs that positively impacted around 15,000 young people by the time of his death in 1990. After his passing, the Padre Fabretto Family continued his legacy, providing educational and vocational training to over 50,000 children until the organization was abruptly shut down by the Ortega-Murillo regime in February 2022.
