Rafael Ortiz Fábrega has been appointed as the new ambassador of Costa Rica to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), effective September 1st, 2023. He previously served as a deputy for the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC) from 2014 to 2018 and was Costa Rica's ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2018 to 2026. Additionally, Ortiz Fábrega held the position of president of the Legislative Assembly from 2015 to 2016, and he has been involved in various roles within the political and sports spheres, including serving as president of the Liga Deportiva Alajuelense from 2002 to 2006 and running as a presidential candidate for the PUSC in 2018.
