Rainess Holmes

Rainess Holmes, a 40-year-old repeat felon with a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2005, recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the 2021 home invasion and murder of Rhodes College student Andrew Rainer. Holmes was one of four men who broke into a Memphis house, demanding electronics from the residents, and was involved in the tragic incident where Rainer was shot after failing to provide the passcode to his iPad. He received a 29-year prison sentence, with 20 years for murder and an additional nine years for separate burglary charges.
