Rakshya Bam

Rakshya Bam is a prominent young activist from Nepal who gained recognition for her leadership role in recent protests against government corruption and police brutality. Hailing from a poor region in western Nepal, she holds a master's degree in gender studies and is actively engaged on social media, advocating for social justice and accountability in governance. During the protests in September 2023, which saw the tragic loss of many lives, Bam articulated the frustrations of her generation, demanding a country free from corruption and greater access to social media. Her efforts culminated in a historic vote on the platform Discord to select an interim prime minister, showcasing the power of Generation Z in Nepal's political landscape.
