Ramfis Trujillo

Ramfis Trujillo was the son of the Dominican Republic's infamous dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. Born into privilege in 1929, he was deeply involved in his father's regime and held various military and political positions. After his father's assassination in 1961, Ramfis attempted to maintain the legacy of Trujillismo, but his efforts were met with resistance and ultimately failed. He lived in exile for many years, returning to the Dominican Republic only briefly before his death in 2000. His name remains synonymous with the oppressive rule of his father and the enduring impact of Trujillo's dictatorship on Dominican society.
