Ramiro Iglesias is a Spanish immigrant who arrived in Uruguay in 1962 and dedicated over 40 years to managing the historic Latinoamericana bakery in Punta Carretas. Starting his career in a bar and later as a bus driver, he transitioned into the bakery business, where he faced numerous challenges including economic fluctuations and changing consumer habits. Despite these difficulties, he successfully ran the bakery until he decided to sell it in 2013, marking the end of an era for a local institution.
