General Ramiz Dreković, born on May 10, 1956, in Veseniće, municipality of Tutin, was a prominent commander in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. He played significant roles as the commander of the Fifth and Fourth Corps, contributing to the defense efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the conflict. After a military career that began in the former Yugoslav People's Army, Dreković returned to Bosnia in 1991, where he quickly became involved in organizing local defense efforts. His leadership was recognized with multiple promotions, culminating in the rank of divisional general. In November 2023, he was acquitted of war crimes related to the conflict. Following his passing, Dreković was commemorated by former comrades and officials for his service and contributions to the defense of the nation.
