Ramón Luis Fernández

Ramón Luis Fernández is a 70-year-old man wanted by Paraguayan authorities since 2022 for the crime of child abuse. He was apprehended by the Federal Police in December 2022 while hiding at his brother's house in Corrientes, Argentina. Despite previous denials for release due to flight risk concerns, he was granted freedom by the Federal Court of Corrientes in November 2023, a decision that has since been challenged by federal prosecutor Carlos Schafer, who argues that Fernández's history of fleeing makes him a significant flight risk.
