Randall Aguilar
Randall Aguilar, known in the cycling community as Merula, was a prominent Costa Rican cyclist who recently fulfilled his dream of participating in his second Vuelta Ciclística a Costa Rica at the age of 46. He had previously competed in the Vuelta a Costa Rica in 2009 and was deeply involved in the sport, inspiring his family members, including his son Mathías and nephew Luis, to pursue cycling. Tragically, Aguilar was murdered in his mechanic workshop in Birrisito de Paraíso, Cartago, on October 20, 2023, which shocked the Costa Rican cycling community.
