He recently made headlines after being accused of defrauding his team by allegedly absconding with approximately $40,000 raised by players for an upcoming tournament in Las Vegas. The funds disappeared just days before the event, leaving parents shocked to learn that the team was not registered and that hotel accommodations had not been arranged. Knodel was arrested by the RCMP in Sherwood Park and faces 13 fraud charges, with a court appearance scheduled for March 17.
