Ray Hook is a seasoned forestry professional with a rich background in both practical and academic realms of the industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in forestry from Lincoln University and an MBA with distinction from Massey University. Following a career that began in a Japanese trading house, he gained extensive experience in forest management and operations, notably with Hancock Forest Management and New Forests. Recently appointed as an advisor by the New Zealand Forest Service, Hook is responsible for fostering collaboration between landowners and the government, particularly in relation to forestry policies and the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
