Rejia Khatun

Rejia Khatun is an Indian woman who was central to a legal case regarding her status as a foreigner in Assam. In 2018, a Foreigners Tribunal ruled that she was not an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant, a decision that was later challenged by the Assam government. The Supreme Court recently upheld the original tribunal's decision, stating that the tribunal cannot review its own orders and reaffirming Khatun's legal standing.
