Renārs Zaļais

Renārs Zaļais is the president of the 1991 Barikade Participants Association and the director of the 1991 Barikade Museum. He has been actively involved in organizing remembrance events for the barikade period, advocating for the recognition of these events as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Zaļais emphasizes the need for ongoing remembrance as the number of surviving participants dwindles and seeks to elevate the museum's status to that of a national museum.
