René Wassing

René Wassing was a Dutch anthropologist who accompanied Michael Rockefeller on his ill-fated expedition in New Guinea. He survived the boating accident that led to Rockefeller's disappearance and later became a key witness in recounting the events of that day. His accounts contributed to the ongoing mystery surrounding Rockefeller's fate and the various theories that have been proposed since.
