Reshat Ametov was a Ukrainian of Crimean Tatar origin who tragically became the first civilian casualty in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. He was abducted and later found dead after participating in a peaceful protest against the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, highlighting the brutal repression faced by Crimean Tatars.
