Rewell Altunaga

Rewell Altunaga was a Cuban artist and curator, born on July 15, 1977, in Camaguey, Cuba. He was known for pioneering video game art in Cuba and had a promising career as a professor and curator before facing a tragic decline into homelessness and addiction in New York City, where he became a fixture in the streets of Harlem. His life ended in tragedy when his body was discovered in the Hudson River in June 2024, sparking discussions about the challenges faced by artists and the homeless.
