Rhita Mkandawire is a Malawian woman who gained notoriety for faking her own death in an attempt to evade repayment of loans obtained through fraudulent means. She was exposed after a police investigation revealed her involvement in a large-scale scam where she impersonated a pastor online to defraud unsuspecting followers. Mkandawire was arrested alongside several accomplices and is now facing fraud charges.
