Ricardo Albacete

Ricardo Albacete is a Venezuelan economist and businessman from Táchira who gained attention after being detained for hosting opposition leader María Corina Machado. He was arrested on July 11, 2024, but was released on December 20, 2024, through the mediation of the Spanish government. Albacete holds both Venezuelan and Spanish nationality, being a descendant of Spanish ancestors. His detention raised concerns about human rights and political repression in Venezuela.
