Ricardo Marinho dos Santos, 61, is a dedicated participant of the Cordão da Bola Preta, having proudly displayed the same playful costume for over two decades, which he created based on a humorous suggestion from his mother. He has been a part of this vibrant carnival tradition for 23 years and believes that the essence of Rio's carnival is embodied in this historic bloco.
