Richard E. Myers II

Richard E. Myers II is a federal judge serving on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Appointed by President Donald Trump in 2017, he has presided over a number of significant cases, particularly those involving election law and civil rights. Recently, he gained attention for his ruling that mandated the North Carolina Board of Elections to certify the results of a contested State Supreme Court race, affirming the constitutional rights of voters and rejecting claims by the Republican candidate to discard thousands of ballots.
