Richard Joyce

Richard Joyce is the legendary Irish goldsmith credited with creating the iconic Claddagh ring in the 17th century. After being captured by pirates and sold into slavery, he learned the art of goldsmithing from his captor, a Moorish craftsman. Upon returning to Galway, he designed the ring, which symbolizes love, loyalty, and friendship through its distinctive motif of hands, heart, and crown.
