Richard Wellesley

Richard Wellesley, the 1st Marquess Wellesley, was an influential Anglo-Irish politician and colonial administrator who served as Governor-General of India. He is best known for his role in expanding British territory in India at a remarkable pace, arguably surpassing Napoleon's conquests in Europe.
