Rīeka
Rīeka was the paternal grandmother of New Zealand musician Marlon Williams, known for her resilience as a single mother who raised seven children after her husband left. A daughter of a Māori minister who did not speak English, she shared a deep bond with Marlon, particularly through music, singing gospel songs together during his childhood. Rīeka was the matriarch of the family and enjoyed a fulfilling life traveling the country in a house bus with her partner, Rod, until her passing when Marlon was 17.
