Rimants Šadžus

Rimants Šadžus is a Latvian politician and economist, currently serving as the Minister of Finance. He has been involved in various economic reforms and fiscal policies aimed at improving the financial stability of Latvia. Recently, he was in the news for his role in the approval of amendments to the Value Added Tax (VAT) law, which included a reduction in the VAT rate on books and non-periodical publications from 9% to 5%, while also proposing increases in VAT rates for other sectors.
