Rimtautas Vizgirda was a Lithuanian-American businessman born in 1938 in Kaunas. He emigrated from Lithuania with his family in 1944 and settled in the United States in 1953. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Boston University and a master's degree in industrial management from the Polytechnic Institute of New York. Throughout his career, he worked for prominent American companies and later founded several small businesses. After moving back to Lithuania in 1997, he became an independent expert in privatization and the real estate market, established a construction company, and held leadership roles in various organizations, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania. Recently, he was in the news due to his passing, which has left his wife, Birutė Vizgirdienė, and family in mourning.
