Risal was a prominent journalist and social activist in Nepal, known for his long-standing contributions to journalism and environmental advocacy. He served as the chief news correspondent at the National News Agency (Rasash) and hosted the radio series 'Uhile Bajeka Palama' on Radio Sagarmatha. A member of the Communist ideology, he also ran for parliament in the 1991 elections as a candidate for the Nepal Labour and Peasant Party. Throughout his career, he received several awards for his work in human rights and environmental protection, and he played a significant role in promoting modern agricultural practices among farmers in Ilam. Risal passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of impactful journalism and community service.
