Robert de Castella

Robert de Castella is a former Australian long-distance runner and a prominent sports administrator, best known for winning the 1983 World Championship marathon and the 1984 Commonwealth Games marathon. He has dedicated much of his post-athletic career to promoting health and fitness, particularly among Indigenous Australians, through initiatives like the Indigenous Marathon Project, which aims to empower First Nations individuals through running and personal development.
