Roberto E. Viola

Roberto E. Viola was an Argentine military officer and politician who served as de facto President of Argentina from March 1981 to March 1982 during the country's last military dictatorship. After being involved in the military government that overthrew Isabel Martínez de Perón, he later ordered her release from detention. Viola's presidency was marked by economic turmoil and political repression, and he faced criticism for his role in the human rights abuses committed during the Dirty War.
