Rocco B. Commisso
Rocco B. Commisso was an Italian-American businessman and the president of ACF Fiorentina, a prominent football club in Italy. Born in Marina di Gioiosa Ionica, Calabria, he emigrated to the United States in 1961, where he pursued an engineering degree at Columbia University on a soccer scholarship. Commisso founded Mediacom, a successful telecommunications company, and became known for his significant investments in soccer, including ownership of the New York Cosmos and later Fiorentina in 2019. He was deeply passionate about football and dedicated to building the Fiorentina brand until his passing at the age of 76 after a long illness.
