Roger Schutz, also known as Brother Roger, was the founder of the Taizé community in 1944, which focuses on ecumenical Christian spirituality and communal living. Although he passed away in 2005, his legacy continues through the community's ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and understanding among different faiths, including recent initiatives to bring together young Muslims and Christians.
