Roger William

Roger William is the Chief of the Xeni Gwet’in First Nation, known for his leadership in the historic Tsilhqot’in case, which resulted in the first legal recognition of Aboriginal title in Canada. His efforts in the courts were aimed at protecting traditional lands from commercial logging, leading to a landmark ruling that established the rights of Indigenous peoples to exclusive use and control over their ancestral territories.
