Roman Zakrevsky

Roman Zakrevsky is a Ukrainian photographer and military personnel who joined the Azov regiment in 2023, driven by a lifelong dream to document war. Based in Chernihiv, he uses his camera to capture the human experience amidst the chaos of conflict, seeking beauty and love even in the darkest moments. Zakrevsky emphasizes the ethical responsibility of photographers in war, choosing not to document horror for horror's sake. His debut book, 'I Stand in a Long Queue with Other Soldiers,' reflects on his experiences and transformations during the war.
