Rosario Barredo

Rosario Barredo was a prominent Uruguayan political figure and activist who became a symbol of the struggle for human rights during the military dictatorship in Uruguay. Alongside other notable figures, she was tragically murdered in 1976, and her memory is honored annually during the Marcha del Silencio, which seeks to remember those who disappeared during this dark period in Uruguayan history.
