Roxan Bastaens was a 20-year-old University of Edinburgh student who tragically slipped and fell to her death at the Cliffs of Moher while hiking with friends in May 2024. Originally from Belgium, she was just weeks away from her 21st birthday when the accident occurred. An inquest revealed that despite wearing hiking boots and being in seemingly safe conditions, she lost her footing on a muddy trail, resulting in a fatal fall.
