Roy Turner
Roy Turner is a prominent planner and advocate for the preservation of Auckland's volcanic cones and viewshafts. He was originally charged with writing the 1976 report on viewshafts for the Auckland Regional Council and is actively involved with the Auckland Volcanic Cones Society. In recent discussions, Turner has expressed support for some of the economic development initiatives proposed by Minister Chris Bishop, while also cautioning against misguided justifications that could undermine the iconic status of Auckland's natural landscapes.
