Rubaiya Sayeed
Rubaiya Sayeed is the daughter of former Indian home minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and was famously abducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) in 1989 when she was just 23 years old, an incident that brought significant attention to the issues of terrorism and separatism in the region. After six days of negotiations, she was released in exchange for the liberation of several jailed militants. Rubaiya has since lived a private life in Tamil Nadu, but her past continues to resonate in discussions about the Kashmir conflict.
