Rubén Alfonso Villadeleón Porras, who passed away in January 1986, was the visionary founder of the Caravana del Zorro, which began in 1961 with just a handful of friends. His innovative spirit and organizational skills earned him the nickname 'Zorro,' and he established a tradition that has grown to involve tens of thousands of participants. In recognition of his contributions, the event was named in his honor after his death, and it was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 2011.
